Instructions
Activate the Yeast: Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.Make the Dough: In a large bowl, mix activated yeast, warm milk, softened butter, egg, salt, and 3 1/2 cups flour until sticky. Knead on a floured surface 8–10 minutes, adding remaining flour gradually.First Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.Shape Rolls: Punch down dough, divide into 12–16 portions, shape into smooth balls, and place in greased pan or parchment-lined sheet.Second Rise: Cover rolls and let rise 30–45 minutes until puffy.Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Optionally brush with melted butter. Bake 18–22 minutes until lightly golden. Brush again with butter after baking.Serve: Let cool slightly and enjoy warm.
