Instructions
Lightly coat the inside of your jello mold or 9x13-inch baking dish with vegetable oil to help with easy removal.
Bring water to a rolling boil and divide equally among three bowls, using approximately 1 cup per bowl.
Add first package of gelatin to the first bowl of hot water and stir constantly for 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
Stir in 1 cup of cold water to cool the mixture, then pour into the prepared mold and refrigerate for 1-2 hours until sticky on top.
Repeat the process with the second gelatin flavor, pouring over the first layer, and refrigerate for 1-2 hours until sticky.
Repeat with the third gelatin flavor, pouring over the second layer and refrigerating for 1-2 hours.
Once all three layers are in place, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until completely firm.
Run a warm knife around the edges of the mold and dip the bottom briefly in warm water, then invert onto a serving plate.
Top with whipped cream, fresh fruit, or maraschino cherries for decoration and flavor.
Notes
Requires 4-8 hours chilling time between layers. Can be made 2-3 days in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator.
