Chill a mixing bowl and beaters, then whip heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.Wash, hull, and slice strawberries evenly. Optional: sprinkle lightly with sugar if strawberries are tart.Spread a generous layer of whipped cream on a slice of bread. Arrange strawberry slices evenly on top.Optional: add another layer of whipped cream on strawberries for extra creaminess.Place a second slice of bread on top and gently press down. Trim edges with a sharp knife for a neat square appearance.Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 15–30 minutes to set.Slice carefully with a serrated knife for clean presentation.Optional variations: mix berries, drizzle chocolate, add custard, or spread matcha cream.Serve chilled with tea, coffee, or as a dessert.
